Korean Folk Village started to be formed as a folk village of 30 households on a site of about 200 thousand pyeong (660,600㎡) at Bora-ri, Giheungeup Yongin City, Gyeonggi province in 1973 and opened to the public in 1974. Since then, Korean Folk Village has been growing up to a worldfamous tourist attraction through extension and supplementary works for its building site and facilities. Over 360 traditional houses of the late Joseon Period have been moved and restored to see the living mode of Korean ancestors on the whole in the natural sight of about 300 thousand pyeong (1,000,000㎡) area, and now various household things are exhibited in the houses. Korean Folk Village is a reproductive housing complex for the comprehensive past life, which is prepared by collecting all from the living mode of the common people under thatched roof to luxurious house of 99 kan (approx. 3,564 ft). Visitors can observe several ancient customs because there are people who actually live in the village. For example, they are unmarried men putting on gat and wearing their hair in a plait, maids in Korean dress, jeogori and chima, the appearance of a woman turning a spinning wheel, and so on. Various attractive life, such as farm music performance in a wedding parade also can be shown.

If you arrive at the Singal Tollgate from Gyungbu Highway, Youngdong Highway, or Singal-Ansan Highway, or arrive at the Singal Five-Way Crossing by way of Gyungbu National Road, or Suwon-Yongin National Road, you can't miss the road signs leading you to the Korean Folk Village, which is about 3km away.
